    Just clarifying – …
Just clarifying – the Bernette, with the Tinkerbelle sticker, was a great machine and is still serving it’s new owner very well.

The two older looking machines … not so much. One’s a MeisterWerke repackaged as a Viking in 1980 or so and may be the last working one of it’s kind due to some bad plastic used inside. The Kenmore (my “junker”) wasn’t one of that company’s best and years of neglect and abuse from it’s previous owner just compounded the problems.

    volleyball – great …
volleyball – great question and there’s two answers. My current favorite is a 1961 Singer Rocketeer while the one that “stars” in most of these vids is a Bernette 55, sold by Bernina. It was quite simple to use but I prefer older machines and so passed it on to a friend. The two seen in this video are not ones I would ever recommend – shoddy construction in both. I would recomend the Bernette or most Kenmores for a beginner. Beyond that it’s figuring out which matches your personality best!
